Historical Newspaper Photos of Animals Dressed Up as People – Ed King Shares His Expert Knowledge in a Short Video

Posted on June 25th, 2013 by The British Newspaper Archive

We did a blog post about some of the wonderful photos of animals dressed up as humans that can be found in the Archive.

We also set up a FREE newspaper page that contains a terrific photo of a cat out on its walk while dressed up to the 9s – this is one cat had an outfit for each of its 9 lives.

We’ve decided to follow up our earlier post by having a expert on historical newspapers talk about some of the quirky and amusing photos of well-dressed animals that can be found in the BNA website.

So in this short video, Ed King, former Head of the Newspaper Collection at the British Library, talks about some of the terrific photos of animals dressed up as humans that can be found on the British Newspaper Archive website. Just click on the image below to view this video on the BNA’s YouTube page.
