Our Special Sports Newspapers

Sports news is a staple of any newspaper.  And you will find sports news in all of our newspapers.  We also have 22 titles dedicated specifically to sport.  Whether your interests run to cricket, horse racing, athletics, or football we have the newspaper for you!  We have sporting titles from England, Ireland, and Scotland dating from 1823 to 1979.

Each sports title has its own title page. Title pages give you details about the history of the title and our holdings. Click on each of the images below to explore our sports title in more detail and read a sample issue for FREE (found on the left-hand side of the title page).

  • I think the report of any major British sporting event, whether it be the “thrill of victory” or “the agony of defeat”, can be found in original and historic newspapers. Whether we collect baseball cards,Legend boxer, Notre Dame or Penn State football collectibles, or prints of your favorite athletes, rare newspapers are sure to enhance our collection. Thanks for shearing this kind of worlk

  • Please, please give thought to scanning The Field Magazine – the most comprehensive and detailed of the Victorian sports journals

  • Not enough titles to research football, and some scans use flash facility which blinds out the important text, more 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s content please, also some football papers like YEP Green ‘Un , Newcastle Chronicle Football Pink etc, this would help and more Sunday titles also as these were full of match reports from all divisions.
