The BNA at the ‘Tayroots’ Family History Day – Friday 5 April 2013, Discovery Point, Dundee

The BNA Team will be attending a FREE family history fair at Discovery Point, Dundee, on Friday 5 April 2013, from 10am to 4pm. As Discovery Point is where Captain Scott’s ship, RRS Discovery is berthed, we’re looking forward to visiting this historical location.

Organised by Angus Heritage, a number of other archive organisations will be present at ‘Tayroots’. So far, the line-up includes ScotlandsPeople, the Scottish Local History Forum, Angus Archives, Aberdeen City Archives, Tay Valley Family History, Aberdeen and NE Family History Society, Dundee Archives and Montrose Air Station. So it really is a grand gathering of archive websites and historical organisations!

In addition to the information stalls being run by all the above organisations, there are several talks and workshops scheduled. If you wish to attend the talks/workshops, then you’ll need to book a place in advance. But if you just want to speak to the various organisations who are attending the fair itself, then you can just turn up on the day without booking. To find out more about the event, visit the Angus Heritage website.

If you’re planning to come to this event, it should be okay to park in the car park at ‘Tesco’, which is just a few hundred yards from Discovery Point.
