This week we added 83,018 pages to The Archive.  We have added seven brand new titles and additional years to over twenty existing titles.  We have added new issues to newspapers from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland this week.  Our new titles come from Leicestershire, Oxfordshire and West Yorkshire in England; Armagh in Ireland, and the historic counties of Breconshire and Radnorshire in Wales, which are now in the county of Powys.

Alongside our new county papers we have added an important early nineteenth century newspaper to our Military Collection.  The Military Register from 1814 to 1820.  This is an extremely important paper for those interested in the last years of the Napoleonic Wars and the many lesser known conflicts of late Georgian period.  The paper reports on the movement of battalions and military promotions.  The Miltary Register will also be of particular interest to those interested in the relationship between the British Army and the East India Company in the early nineteenth century.

Updated Titles

We have updates to twenty-three existing titles this week. Notable additions include those to The Nottingham Journal which we first added to The Archive in February of 2017, and goes from strength to strength, we now have issues which date from 1811 to 1953.   The Croydon Chronicle which we first published in January of this year has also had signficant additions, this paper now has editions from the 1850s and 1860s.
