In Brussels, on 15 November 1902, the Italian anarchist, Gennaro Rubin, attempted to assassinate King Leopold II of Belgium.
From a UK perspective, it’s very interesting to see that James Keir Hardie, who was staying in the Hotel Waterloo in Brussels at the time of the assassination attempt, was arrested by the Belgian police – oh, and very quickly released, too!
