Another great boost to the collection but still local newspapers adding to the long list of similar with multiple titles from some towns.
I’ve already mentioned it but please consider adding the Volunteer Service Gazette. It is such a rich resource of local news – but very hard to find and probably little known by many researchers. Access to material on the Volunteer Movement of the 19th Century, which lead to the formation of the Territorial Force in 1908 is difficult. Family, local history, and military historians would be given a new resource if it were to become widely available.
Sadly I doubt I will get many votes for my campaign, largely because this great resource is so little known.

We all have our “Wish List” Papers. I, for one, would like to see more than 1 year of the Ayr Advertiser!

We keep an eye on the titles that are getting the most votes and try to include them in our digitisation schedule where possible.
for me it’s the “Islington
Daily Gazette and North London Tribune” – researching both family and early football history – and that football has nothing to do with Arsenal despite my interest in Islington – my interest is the Hampstead and District League, a team Hemingford FC, and the role of such regional- based leagues and teams in the evolution of the game in the late 19th/early 20th century
