Portrait of BeethovenWith the Proms taking place at the moment, we thought we’d post a historical newspaper story about Beethoven.

The report tells the story of how Beethoven received his inspiration to write the beautiful ‘Moonlight Sonata’

The Moonlight Sonata was written in 1801. Beethoven had two symphonies in F, the sixth and the eighth, written in 1808 and 1812 respectively, as a quick Google search suggests.
