Hot off the press – new titles added this week

This week we have added 69,017 new pages to The Archive. We have published five brand new titles and added pages to six existing titles. Our new titles this week cover the counties of Bedfordshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.

The Archive now has eleven titles covering Gloucestershire, twelve covering Oxfordshire and eight for Bedfordshire.

We have added pages to the fascinating Music Hall and Theatre Review. This newspaper offers an intriguing glimpse into the world of Victorian entertainment. Discover the Babylon Babble, the Music Hall and Theatre Review’s gossip column, an intimate commentary on the inner workings of music hall life with reports on engagements, deaths, scandals and exciting new acts.

The Music Hall and Theatre Review would include portraits of performers, stage managers and others associated with the entertainment world. Signor Alberto, a wizard, is profiled in one edition, with accounts of his adventurous life across the globe, his prowess in swimming, flute-playing and cycling noted alongside his talent for magic.

This is a great site for research. Thank you. May I request that you include The Newmarket Journal as soon as possible. This was (from 1882), and still is, the Newmarket area’s principal local paper. In its earlier days – until relatively recently – there was extensive coverage of local and family events, all of which shone a light on local society. It would be yet another invaluable resource for researchers.
