In partnership with the British Library, the British Newspaper Archive features 1 million free to view newspaper pages as part of its collection. A great way to get started with your research, and to begin to explore historic newspapers and their stories, all you need to do is register a free account with us to access the free to view pages.

Once you’ve registered, you can explore 150 different newspaper titles, which span the years 1720 to 1880. Imagine all the stories waiting to be found in these diverse and historic newspaper pages.

From Blackpool to Brighton, from Swansea to Stockton, from Weymouth to Widnes, these free to view newspaper titles cover the length and breadth of Great Britain, whilst also incorporating titles from further afield, from the likes of Barbados and Jamaica.

There is no need to subscribe to access our free to view newspaper pages. All you need to do is to register a free account with us, which you can do by clicking here.

Once you’ve registered your free account, you can search our free to view newspapers via our advanced search form, where you can select the ‘Free To View’ access option.

Alternatively, you can filter the free to view articles on the search results page.
