THE LINK ON NEW ADDITIONS FOR APRIL TO THE TODMORDEN DAILY NEWS DOES NOT WORK
Thank you for calling our attention to this, Richard. We have fixed the link.
The email says I may see three items in your new addition, John Bull, for free. I am currently a non subscribing member so that looked encouraging. However, I have logged in but everytime I click on the thing I want, it asks me to subscribe and takes me to a paywall, so that was nothing but a falsehood and I am very disappointed.
Hi Teresa, sorry for the confusion. The blog mentions that you can access a free sample of the newspaper by clicking the newspaper title. This link will bring you to the newspaper’s individual title page ( https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/titles/john-bull ). Every title page provides you with a sample of the newspaper found on the left-hand side of the page. You can click that image and it will allow you to view that entire sample issue.
