Hot off the press – titles added this week

It’s been a busy week at the Archive.  We’ve added 191,119 pages to the archive.  We have 13 brand new titles to share with you, and have updated 18 existing titles.

With the addition of The Leitrim Advertiser this past week we are delighted to say that we now have a newspaper for every county in Ireland.  This brings the number of titles we have for Ireland to 150.  This week we also added The Portadown Times for County Armagh to the Archive, and we will continue to digitise newspapers for Ireland.

Updated Titles

This week we added additional years to eighteen existing titles.  We added significantly to four of our long-standing titles: The Woolwich Gazette and Greenwich and Deptford Chronicle was first added to the archive in 2015, we have now added a further twenty-four years to the title. The Salisbury and Winchester Journal joined the archive in 2012, we have now added an additional twenty-three years to this long running Wiltshire title.

Two London papers also had substantial additions.  The West London Observer had an unbroken run from 1916 to 1952 added, and the East London Observer gained almost fifty years of new issues.
