‘The Thames is Now Both a Fair and Market Too’ – Discovering the Frost Fair of 1814

It was the winter of 1813-1814. Napoleon retreated from Moscow, and the Thames froze over between London Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge from 27th December 1813 to 5th February 1814.
