Hot off the press – titles added this week

It’s been a busy week at the Archive.  We’ve added 191,119 pages to the archive.  We have 13 brand new titles to share with you, and have updated 18 existing titles. With the addition of The Leitrim Advertiser this past week we are delighted to say that we now have a newspaper for every county in Ireland.  This brings the number of titles we have for Ireland to 150.  This week we also added The Portadown Times for County Armagh

Hot off the press – papers added this week

This past week we added significantly to our most recently added titles.  We added 112,987 pages to nine existing titles, and published three years (1890-1892) of the short-lived Scottish newspaper, the Brechin Herald and Angus and Mearns News. This paper covers both the historic eastern counties of Angus and Kincardineshire. Local titles, such as the Brechin Herald and Angus and Mearns News, could often have very short runs. Hot off the Press – papers added this week

The British Newspaper Archive

In the last seven days, we added 182,120 pages to The Archive. This includes four new titles and additional issues to fourteen existing titles.  Joining The British Newspaper Archive this week are two new titles from Wales – Abergavenny Chronicle and Tenby Observer – and one from Scotland – Milngavie and Bearsden Herald.  Another new title is the Weekly Casualty Lists (War Office & Air Ministry) published during the First World War.  The weekly lists printed the names of soldiers who died as well

Hot off the Press – papers added this week

This past week we added 91,374 pages to the archive.  We have added three brand new titles and pages to eight existing titles.  Joining the Archive this week are two brand new titles for Ireland.  The Limerick Chronicle gives news of the western seaboard of Ireland, our holdings cover both the pre and post-Famine period.  The Mid-Ulster Mail was published in Tyrone and our current holdings offer insight into the period before the Great War.   Joining the Archive this week

The Archive continues to grow at an amazing pace.  We’ve added 145,914 pages to twenty-two newspapers since our last update.  The archive now holds 698 newspapers for the UK and Ireland.  Our additions this week include nine brand new titles and additions to thirteen existing titles.
